29 Mar Don’t Let Anyone Talk Down to You
Meet Kate Goss, Managing Director for PrideOne out of the New York headquarters. Kate has been with PrideOne for nearly eight years and has continued to inspire other women and men within the organization with her confidence and work ethic.
In honor of Women’s History Month, Kate shared with us her favorite woman leader who has inspired her to continue to break glass ceilings:
“One of my heroes is Eleanor Roosevelt. She wasn’t afraid to defy the expectations for women of her day and she made a lot of people uncomfortable! In doing so, she had a huge impact on the direction of the presidency and later worked tirelessly for greater justice for all people all around the world. At her funeral Adlai Stevenson said, “She would rather light a candle than curse the darkness, and her glow has warmed the world.” What better legacy could anyone leave?”
Kate is a brave leader who has had a huge, positive, impact on our organization. Here is her advice to other women for breaking glass ceilings:
“Use your voice. Let it be clear and strong and confident. Don’t let anyone talk down to you or talk over you or make you doubt your smarts and your skills. And no matter how busy you get, don’t forget to nurture your network of friends to keep you sane!”
Kate practices what she preaches and continues to strive for greatness. Thank you, Kate, for being a leader that we are all so proud to have at PrideOne.
